Finally ... A Good Night's Sleep!

After years of harassment and arrest, the law may have finally seen "the light".
Throughout the years, I have frequented Eugene countless times. Every time that I've come here though, the EPD has arrested me for simply sleeping.

I'm currently in recovery and have been regularly attending church, not to mention I've also been sleeping at the same church. Pastor Daniel Bryant, senior minister of the First Christian Church, has welcomed my presence every Sunday since I've been back. And just recently (June 19, 2005), he has given me "written permission" to sleep on the property at night.

Thank you Pastor, and God bless you.

However ... the day before I obtained his permission in writing, the EPD had once again threatened me with arrest. Not having Dan's "John Hancock" to prove that my sleeping habits were "in the know" at that particular time, I complied and went to sleep elsewhere.

For the last two mornings, I have felt so refreshed that my days have literally turned out to be very productive ones. For all those that are homeless here in Eugene, you can understand that this rarely happens. But things have changed, and I just feel like I can accomplish anything (this is of course, with the help of God). Besides, I haven't slept this sound in a long time.

So, thank you once again Pastor. This battle had been getting the best of me, until, well ... you know. Everything changes when God intervenes. And with that having been said, I know that with permission granted me, ULTIMATELY from the Almighty, I shall now rest at nights ... in peace.

"He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty" - Psalm 91:1
