DeeDee Halleck, founder of Paper Tiger and Deep Dish TV and James Parrish, founder of Flicker and the Richmond Moving Image Co-op, will meet with local media reformers and indy producers to discuss new initiatives in media independent venues and current reform coalitions
within and outside the beltway.
--What's going on with public television and CPB?
--How can the conversion to digital TV free the airwaves?
--The Pod-casting revolution--will it work for indies?
-- How can local media survive?

Halleck will screen segments from Deep Dish's new series, "Shocking and Awful" and Parrish will show a selection of short films from the Richmond Flicker series.

FYI: Halleck has been closely involved with the Independent Media Center movement. In 2001 she developed a television version of Democracy Now!, the Pacifica Network daily radio news series, which is now being shown daily in over 100 community cable channels and on the Dish Network to a total potential audience of 12 million viewers.
