Jan. 21 “Edu-Concert� to Honor Dr. King

Free Edu-Concert, January 21, honoring the life and work of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. 7 p.m., at the Berryman Center, 400 W. 32nd St. Sponsored by the Richmond Peace Education Center and Drums No Guns
The Richmond Youth Peace Project will present a free Edu-Concert on January 21, as part of this year’s Living the Dream commemoration of the life and work of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. The concert will be held at 7 p.m., at the Berryman Center, 400 W. 32nd St.

The event will feature percussion ensemble Drums No Guns, performing a drum tribute to Dr. King, America’s drum major for peace. Other performers will include the jazz/rock/funk fusion group Think, and spoken word performances by Iman Shabazz and poets from Tuesday Verses, Soul Café and Lyric Ave.

The Richmond Youth Peace Project (RYPP) is an initiative of the Richmond Peace Education Center and Drums No Guns. RYPP is currently planning its second annual Youth Peace Summit, to be held on April 22, 2006.
