Torture and the War on Terror: A Discussion on US Policy

After short presentations on the topic of the use of torture in the War on Terror the floor will be opened for a short question and answer session and debate.

The Richmond Peace Education Center, along with The Mid-Atlantic Regional Office of Amnesty International is sponsoring a public forum, to be held at the VCU Commons Theater on September 27, 2006 at 7 pm, focused on the topic of torture. The forum will include presentations from Tony Lagouranis, a former US Army Interrogator, Jameel Jaffer, ACLU staff attorney and witness it the Guantanamo military tribunals, and Jumana Musa, Amnesty Internataional’s Advocacy Director for Domestic Human Rights and International Justice. The presentations will focus primarily on the use of torture in the war against terrorism.
