The REAL March for Palestine

These are the pro-Palestinian events that the Committee in Solidarity with the Palestinian People (CISPP) has been planning for months, and that the Stalinists who run the A.N.S.W.E.R. coalition are now ignoring. "Pay no attention to the hard-working organizers behind the curtain..." This has to be one of the dirtiest tricks I've ever seen any Workers World Party front pull.
Show Solidarity To The Palestinian People: Protest War Criminal Sharon

The number of Palestinians who have been killed, injured, or lost their homes, livelihoods, and loved ones during Israel’s latest assault on the Occupied Territories will not be known for some time, if ever. The numbers will most certainly be high but they’ll never capture the misery, humiliation, death and destruction that Palestinians have been through. Join the Committee in Solidarity with the Palestinian People (CISPP) in Washington, DC from April 19 to April 22 to hear about what the Palestinian people have been going through, show solidarity with their resistance to the occupation, and protest war criminal Ariel Sharon’s speech to the American Israeli Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC):

What: Globalization, US Militarism, and the Struggle for Justice in Palestine

When: Friday, April 19 from 12:00 - 6:00 PM

Where: American University’s Ward Building (www.american.edu/maps/)

This Conference will focus on the Palestinian struggle for self determination and the ways in which it’s connected to the movements against capitalist globalization and the “war on terrorism”.

There will be workshops on National Liberation movements today, Colombia, Argentina, globalization, militarism, legal and direct action trainings, detentions and the attack on civil liberties, immigrant rights, and much, much more.

Call to Action

Just when we thought there couldn't possibly be any more reasons to take part in the April 19-22, Washington DC protests against the War* -- be it the war on "terrorism" in Afghanistan, the drug war in Colombia, or the war on the poor being waged by the IMF and World Bank -- the American Israeli Political Action Committee (AIPAC) gave us another reason: they invited the war criminal Ariel Sharon to town.

Sharon, who was found by his own government to be indirectly responsible for the massacre of as many as 2000 Palestinians in the Sabra and Shatila refugee camps in 1982, ignited the current Palestinian Intifada and then led a bloody suppression of the whole Palestinian society. Since September 2000, more than 1000 Palestinians have been killed, over 25,000 have been injured, and close to 600 homes have been demolished by the Sharon-led government.

AIPAC's annual conference brings together all the main forces of reaction and war. This year's conference is being billed as an event "to show support for the war on terrorism being waged by the U.S. and Israel". In addition to Sharon, both Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld and Deputy Defense Secretary Paul Wolfowitz have been invited to speak.

To have so many war criminals together at one event is too good of an opportunity to pass up. Therefore, we would like to invite all those committed to justice to join us April 19-22 in Washington, DC to protest another War, the war against the Palestinian people, and demand that Sharon be indicted for crimes against humanity.
