The VCU University Student Commons and Activities is sponsoring a lecture by scholar and acclaimed indigenous peoples' rights advocate, Ward Churchill, on September 7, 2007 at 7pm in the VCU Student Commmons, Richmond Salons. This lecture is entitled, "From a Native Son: Conquest and Colonization in the Americas: An Evening with Ward Churchill."
Ward Churchill is a prolific author and former professor of ethnic studies and Coordinator of American Indian Studies Program at the University of Colorado. Professor Churchill (Keetoowah Band Cherokee) is one of the most outspoken Native American activists and scholars in North America and a leading analyst of indigenous issues.
