GOP fundraiser to feature Cheney
Advertisement RICHMOND, Va. (AP) -- Vice President Dick Cheney is to be the featured speaker at a fundraiser for the Republican Party of Virginia. Cheney will appear Friday night at the gathering of state GOP officials at the Greater Richmond Convention Center. Virginia Republicans will nominate either former Governor Jim Gilmore or Prince William County Delegate Robert Marshall as the party's candidate for the U.S. Senate. The nominee chosen Saturday will take on Democrat Mark R. Warner, another former Virginia governor. Republicans also will choose either John Hager or Prince William Delegate Jeffrey Frederick as the state party's chairman.
