Activists Arrested At Senators Offices

Apr 10, 2003

At least 10 anti-war protesters were arrested and charged with trespassing today after blocking the entrances at the Richmond offices of U.S. Sens. John W. Warner and George Allen.

At least six were arrested inside Allen's office at 507 E. Franklin St. about noon. Four others were arrested inside Warner's 18th-floor office at 600 E. Main St. about 45 minutes later.

The protesters say they blame the two senators for supporting the war, which has resulted in the deaths of Iraqi civilians.

Just my opinion, but I think what we all need to do is email, phone, fax, etc. the local media and let them know that this story deserves to be on the news and needs to be followed up on.

Get in touch with Channel 6, 8 and 12 and the Times-Dispatch and ask them to follow up on the story, including more in-depth information on what the activists said regarding their action.
