CONVENTIONS FOR THE RICH, SOUP LINES FOR THE POOR: RCLW protests in front of Richmond Convention Center

Supporters of the Richmond Coalition for a Living Wage walked a picket line in front of the city's convention center Saturday night as glitzy convention-goers navigated around the 55 demonstrators. Crying chants of "Who's at fault? City Hall! What's outrageous? Poverty wages!" the group protested the city government's bypassing of its living wage ordinance by contracting city work out to private businesses that pay their workers unfair wages. The Environment/Energy Balance

YES, I am a tree hugger. I drove down the Western Australian Coast with my feet up on the dash board, meditated and danced joyously by the rivers, strummed my guitar by the ocean and sang “Imagine” with my mates… Those days were much simpler; the environment/energy balance was really just a single issue then. Social balance was achieved by the extremes on both sides, the greenies against the capitalists. The environment cannot be looked at as a single issue anymore as the complexity of global war has heated up. A whole new paradigm of cause and effect is relevant on how we address the energy/environment balance.

The US Government has declared a War on Music. We are the target of busts,
arrests, harassment and intimidation, all with the ultimate goal of silencing
the music we love. The recently passed RAVE Act threatens to scare club owners
and promoters into shutting down events nationwide for fear of imprisonment of
up to 20 years and/or fines of $500,000. Even harsher laws sit in Congress
